I called Kennedy last night after class, even though I should have been studying. I mean, my first week back in school, and I already had to miss a class 'cause of the big evil brewing. Fortunately, it turned out to be not-so-big-evil. Or, not-so-hard-to-defeat evil, anyway. Andrew got a message from the Council, so Angel and I went to check it out.
We'd just planned to do some recon, but it was pretty minor. Just a black box with a bomb in it. Which, okay, bad, but I took care of it, no sweat. Angel was pretty cool about things, too.
That's why I called Kennedy. Okay, mainly it was because I miss my girl, and emails just aren't the same as hearing her voice. But also because I wanted to talk to someone about Angel.
I mean, it's great having him back with us, and working with him, like old times. (Only with me being an empowered woman rather than the damsel-in-distress. Seeing his face when he realized that? Very cool. :) ) But we still don't know everything that happened in L.A. I want to trust him, but should I?
Kennedy pointed out that it's true, we don't know everything that happened in L.A. So we don't know what kind of situations he was facing, and how he came to the decisions he did. And Angel's always come through for us. (Except when he didn't have a soul, but that's different.) I think I can give him the benefit of the doubt.
Besides, there are too many other things to worry about now. There's that weird prophecy we got from that Oracle, whoever set up that black box, and my Advanced Optics class. Whatever's happened in the past, Angel's a good guy now, and we can really use his help.
Unless he breaks Buffy's heart again. Then I'm dropping him in a vat of holy water.
